Being In Your Proper Position

“Not being in your proper position, gives room for unnecessary distractions to come in.”

A “position” can be defined as a posture, stance, attitude, or a location. It’s what you believe, how you react, what you stand for, and where you are at. When you are in position, you are in purpose and that requires you to stay focused. When you are focused, you are resilient, and nothing can sway or distract you. Because when you are distracted, it usually leads to a certain level of chaos, and that’s what began to happen in King David’s life in 2 Samuel Chapter 11. Instead of being out in battle with his men (in position), King David decided to stay home (out of position). Being out of position set the atmosphere for lust to be stirred up, then it created one chaotic situation after another. So, instead of David operating as the great leader he was anointed to be, he became distracted with trying to cover up the sin he committed.

How many of you can admit that at one point in your life you found yourself out of position, and it caused you to be caught up in something you never intended to be involved in? Or it simply caused you to get off track and go in the wrong direction. By being in the wrong place at the wrong time, it can give the enemy just the opening needed to present unnecessary distractions, causing us to forget who we are anointed to be and what we are appointed to do. So I encourage you to “…Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV (excerpts from the book "Dangerously In Love" by Tracy Palmer-available on Amazon) or click here to get your digital copy.
